Euclid-based Lincoln Electric, a leading manufacturer of arc welding products, will use the loan to help pay for assembly of a 2.5-megawatt wind turbine on its property.
Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald requested the loan and the County Council approved it. The loan represents about 6 percent of the financing of a $5.9 million project.

At least 100 people have stopped by the Banning electric utility department since August to ask about the 40-foot-tall pole with the ball-shaped device on top.
So, what is it?
It’s a small wind generator that produces electricity for the East Lincoln Street building.
Banning’s municipal power utility is using the wind generator as a test.
