“The only people ‘lying’ about spending are the Obama campaign. The only explanation for their hysterical attacks is that they’re afraid that when John McCain and Sarah Palin are in the White House, Barack Obama’s nearly $1 billion in earmark spending will stop dead in its tracks,” Mr. Rogers said.
Wind Power in Europe
The future of wind power technology is vast and exciting. It is estimated that by 2020, the European Union and America will be supplying a minimum of 25% of their energy needs from wind power. These projections are particularly impressive given that the predicted doubling of consumption of electricity needs for these areas of the world is factored in to the numbers.

GE Energy turbine sales to grow fivefold in Europe
By Muriel Boselli
MARSEILLE | Mon Mar 16, 2009 3:33pm EDT
MARSEILLE (Reuters) – GE Energy’s renewable arm aims to increase its sales of wind turbines to Europe fivefold in 2009 to 400 turbines, a senior executive said on Monday.
GE Energy, which entered the wind power arena in 2002 when it bought Enrons’ wind assets, also provides technologies for the coal, gas and nuclear sectors.
GE Energy has around 50 percent of the U.S. wind turbine market share with 12,000 megawatts (MW) of wind power capacity installed.
The news that the world’s largest tidal turbine – 1 MW in size – will be installed off the coast of Scotland near Orkney should come as no surprise.
Primitive tidal mills operated in the England date back to the 11th century. During the 18th century, several tidal mills popped up in Western Europe. The first modern tidal plants borrowed from conventional hydropower concepts by relying upon dams or barrages. La Rance, France still boasts the largest such system in the world, …
… />Last year, Latin America introduced over 700 megawatts (MW) of new wind capacity. Brazil was leading with 326 MW of newly installed capacity, followed by Mexico with 316 MW (including the 250-megawatt Eurus wind farm in the south). But according to The Latin American Wind Energy Association (LAWEA) these developments have been only the first steps taken. Within ten to fifteen years the association expects other enormous construction plans to be realised. Brazil, but also Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Peru, …

The PTC provides a 1.8-cent per kWh credit (adjusted annually for inflation) for electricity produced during the first 20 years of a wind project’s operation. With the extension, the PTC will remain in place through December of 2005, and is expected to spur a new wave of wind energy installations across the country. According to American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) executive director Randall Swisher, the extension “means that approximately $3 billion in …

According to Paolo Berrino of the European Wind Energy Association, “We support the vision of the European Commission that by 2020 there should be at least 34 percent of electricity coming from renewable energy. EWEA’s scenario shows that 230GW of wind power installed capacity will be available in the EU in 2020, which is equal to 14 to 17 percent of EU electricity …
