Solar Power Inverter

Solar Power Inverter

The solar inverter is a critical component in a solar energy system. It performs the conversion of the variable DC output of the Photovoltaic (PV) module(s) into a clean sinusoidal 50- or 60 Hz AC current that is then applied directly to the commercial electrical grid or to a local, off-grid electrical network. Typically, communications capability is included so users can monitor the inverter and report on power and operating conditions, provide firmware updates and control the inverter grid connection. Depending on the grid infrastructure wired (RS-485, CAN, Power …

Siemens Energy Receives First U.S. Order for New SWT-2.3

Siemens Energy announces its first U.S. order for 33 units of the new SWT-2.3-101 wind turbine.

The Bison I wind project will be located near Center, North Dakota, and will be built in two phases.

The first 16 turbines are planned for installation in 2010, and the remaining 17 units of phase two in 2011.

When completed, the wind farm is expected to have a generating capacity of up to 75 megawatts (MW).

The scope includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the 33 units, as well as a …

… range as utility power! Skystream’s innovative downwind tail-less design and utility compatible inverter create an easy to install, low maintenance power system capable of producing an estimated 100 kWh/month of power with an average 7.9mph wind speed.

The Skystream’s unique design makes it one of the quietest residential turbines available, with a sound profile very similar to the background noise level in tests. The turbine can be mounted on 33 and 45 foot monopole towers for the least visually obstructive installation in suburban areas, or on taller guyed pole towers to increase system output.

The available wireless remote allows you to control the …
