Jennifer Granholm gave the keynote address at this year’s wind energy conference and took the opportunity to announce over $15 million in new Recovery Act funding for the state to be directed towards renewable energy. “We are not just content in Michigan to be making wind turbines,” Granholm said at the Cobo Center, located in downtown Detroit. “Michigan is going to be the place to solve the problems for the wind industry.”

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Deepwater Wind has announced its plans to construct an offshore wind farm with as many as 200 wind turbines, in what will be the largest offshore wind farm planned to date in the U.S.
