Sun Country Boeing 737-800 (N807SY) taken at SEA.
The rumors surrounding Sun Country’s buy-out have been circulating for quite sometime. I have heard that Delta, AirTran or Southwest might be good candidates for a take over. Out of those three, Southwest seems the most likely.
I spoke with representatives from all three rumored buyers and they each had their own unique way of telling me, “no comment.” That …

… align=”justify”>Accelerated deployment of clean energy offers the single biggest solution to the three vexing problems facing the world today: fossil fuel depletion, environmental unsustainability, and climate change. In the last two decades, wind power has emerged as the leading green energy technology, growing at a record rate of more than 31% during 2009. The cumulative installed capacity as on June 2010 is 175 GW. Projections by Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) indicate that the size of the global …
Overview of the Solar Energy sector in India
India has a vast supply of green energy resources, and has a significant program for deploying these resources. An exclusive ministry for renewable energy called Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources later renamed as Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNES) has also been set up.
According to the recent report on Renewable Energy in India from …
India has very ambitious goals for increasing the use of renewable sources of energy, and has an entire ministry dedicated to the task, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. While much of the recent attention has been on the National Solar Mission1 that aims to increase solar installations to 12,000 MW (from the current 3 MW), the potential for wind energy development in India is also considerable, estimated at 65,000 MW.2 In fact, with 10,925 MW3 of current installed capacity, wind accounts for about seventy percent of the renewable portfolio in India. Wind power in India is highly …

According to a recently released report by the Global Wind Energy Council, India’s wind energy capacity could increase by five times its current installed capacity, if the wind energy sector is supported by agressive policies. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable energy, India’s wind energy capacity stood at 13,065 MW (December 2010).
According to the report, India Wind Energy Outlook, even in the absence of any new policies the wind energy …
India, with an installed wind generating capacity of 12,800 MW, is emerging as a major manufacturing hub of wind turbines. As of now, 17 manufacturers have a consolidated annual production capacity of 7,500 MW and nine new companies are expected to enter the Indian wind energy sector in the next one or two years. The annual wind turbine manufacturing capacity is likely to cross 17,000 MW by 2012-13, according to a background note on the wind energy industry, prepared for the Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference 2010 that got under way …
