Zero Emission Project
We saw in a previous article how much money a wind farm can generate, but to give a size to this money we need to compare it with the money that flows out of the pockets! Is it more or less then what we expect to earn in a long term?
Table 1 describes the investment costs for a 2MW turbine in 2006. The figures are taken from a study of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA). The costs are calculated in sterling pounds at the February 2010 EUR-GBP exchange rate (1.14).
Cape Wind project approved

The so-called Pampa project will be postponed until 2013 when Texas is expected to complete a $4.9 billion transmission line, Pickens said in Washington today. Reports by the Dallas Morning News and Associated Press on Tuesday that he was ending the project were wrong, he said.

Euclid: County approves wind energy project
CLEVELAND — Work has started in Euclid on what will soon be the largest wind turbine in Northeast Ohio. It is being funded in part by a $350,000 loan from Cuyahoga County government.
Euclid-based Lincoln Electric, a leading manufacturer of arc welding products, will use the loan to help pay for assembly of a 2.5-megawatt wind turbine on its property.
Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald requested the loan and the County Council approved it. The loan represents about 6 percent of the financing of a $5.9 million project.
About 75 percent of the cost of the turbine will be covered by Lincoln Electric itself.
